Flights
There are numerous flight options available from Chicago O'Hare (ORD) to Juan Santamaría International Airport, San José (SJO). We recommend flying into San Jose and either staying overnight near the airport or continuing on to Quepos on Sunday, January 26th. Doing so will reduce your travel time to Manuel Antonio on Monday, January 27th, allowing you to join us for our welcome celebration Monday evening.
Consider setting a price alert on a travel app such as Kayak to
notify you of the optimal time to purchase plane tickets.
Please book your flight early, as it is peak season.
Also, make sure you do not book a flight to
San Jose, California by mistake!
Passports
Every international traveler must possess a valid passport to enter Costa Rica. Due to heightened demand, mail delays, and processing backlogs, obtaining or renewing a passport may take longer than anticipated.
As a general guideline, passports must remain valid for six months beyond the date of departure from the United States. Please take a moment today to check the expiration date of your passport, allowing ample time for any necessary renewals.
While optional, applying for TSA PreCheck and Global Entry can improve your airport experience.
Travel to Manuel Antonio
Manuel Antonio is a 2.5-3.5 hour drive from San Jose.
There are three options for traveling from the San Jose airport to our wedding destination:

Join one of the shuttles we will arrange in advance from SJO.

Book an Uber.

Purchase a 20-minute domestic or charter flight to Quepos (XQP) from San Jose.
If you experience motion sickness or are uncomfortable in small planes, we recommend opting for the shuttle.

When booking, mention that you're attending a wedding at Villa Punto de Vista to arrange transportation to/from the villa and possibly receive discounts. You'll see the distance from the wedding venue in each description, some are within walking distance. We haven't reserved a block of rooms due to the variety of accommodations available, so please make your reservations early.
